First Contact

June 7 to 13, 2026

This week started with contact from a potential client and ended with a completed session, a new connection made, and a happy customer.  This showed me that my small action of putting myself out there on a local social media page could result in finding likeminded people who are interested in what I have to offer.  I’d been struggling with this belief for quite a while, thinking that no one near me would even know what hypnotherapy was.  Now, I’ve got a connection, positive word of mouth, and I’ve taken another step towards living my dream life.

This reality sunk in a little more by the end of the week and just like the realization of receiving payment for the first time from my sister, this realization of connecting with someone I had never met before and making a positive impact in their life embedded itself gently within me.  These little realizations feel momentous in some ways, and yet at the same time, like no big deal.  It’s such a difficult thing to try to explain.  A reality that once felt so impossible and distant is now slowly and beautifully unfolding before me one step at a time.

A trip out of the house to visit different cities and pick up some vehicles also had an impact on me.  Instead of staying home waiting by the computer, constantly checking to see if someone was interested in my services and fretting over my marketing strategy, I decided to get out.  It was a misty day, and I’d forgotten to take more flyers and business cards with me, but the fact that I got out and felt the sense of community in these cities gave me more hope that there were other people out there who might find my services useful.  While viewing one vehicle, we were welcomed into a beautiful yard where I found out the owners had planted many of the trees that were now towering over the land.  This gave me hope that the little seedlings I’m planting will grow and we will see the benefits of our labor. 

We received so much rain this week and watched as storms passed nearby and then directly overtop of us.  This spring has been such a mix of weather, but I’m so grateful for the free water.  I had decided not to cut the grass as much as usual in order to let whatever little tree or shrub that wanted to pop up have a better chance of surviving, but the rate of growth of the grass has started to make it impossible for some of the hand planted trees to survive.  I’ve had to hop on the mower more frequently, which is just as well because it means spending more time in nature.  One of my future goals is to learn how to capture and store this free water, but that will take time, research, and money.

I did receive quite a few messages this week and I will attempt to review them and connect them using hypnosis.  The messages are maverick, good fortune, cutter, missing finger, red roof, snails, recurring dream, laurel leaves, fault line, aphantasia, Tesla and time is running out.

Maverick – This first showed up while I was listening to an astrologer talking about Chiron and how it is the minor planet of mavericks.  It also showed up in a conversation with my partner who mistook this word for another when trying to recall the name of a car.  It appeared as a name of someone on Facebook that posted a reel that caught my attention.  The last place it popped up was in an interview on YouTube with a respected journalist who has questioned the accepted idea of history.  This message feels quite clear in its meaning.  Mavericks are the people who don’t do what is expected of them, the ones who stick out, speak out, and who go against the norm.  So, I just take this message to mean that I should be a maverick.

Good fortune – This message was the name of a movie we tried to watch this week, it was mentioned in an audiobook that I’m listening to, and it was also mentioned in an ad I heard while listening to an astrology podcast.  I could take this message at face value and take it as a sign that good fortune will come my way, so I will!

Cutter – This message appeared as the name of someone impersonating a CIA handler in a tv show who ended up having people believe they were sleeper agents and convinced them to assassinate targets.  This was also the name of a hair salon we passed on our day out.  The two messages seem unrelated in their context and I’m not sure what cutter refers to.  Yes, I have been cutting grass more this week, but I don’t think it refers to that.  I’m just going to have to let the answers come during hypnosis.

Missing finger – This message was presented in a tv show in an episode where a man’s finger was found in a dead swan’s mouth.  It also appeared in another tv show where a painting of a person with a missing finger revealed that there was a descendant of the original founders of an island still alive.  In both situations, the missing finger was a clue that led to a deeper truth.  I can’t quite figure this one out, but I feel as though it’s akin to a finger pointing the way somewhere and if that finger is missing, then maybe the direction is still unknown.

Red roof – This message appeared twice on our day out and about.  The first stop we made had a number of red rooves and because of unclear directions, this was a defining feature that helped me find the location.  The other red roof stuck out as it was attached to a beautiful stone building on the side of the road.  This message feels a bit more symbolic as red is the colour of the root chakra, which represents foundations, stability, security, finances, and the home.  So, because these were both red and attached to homes, I think it is a message about building a stable, sturdy, safe home and lifestyle that is abundant and prosperous.

Snails – This message showed up in a Facebook post where someone was sharing the beauty of the land they were on and zoomed in on a snail.  It also appeared in a movie I was called to rewatch that was whimsical and playful.  The third place it showed up was on another tv show about farming.  I think this message has to do with pace.  I am typically slow at things and don’t feel a sense to rush.  When I do rush things, I know that sense of urgency is coming from society or anxiety that results from listening to the outside world instead of myself.  So, I take this message to mean that it is ok to go slow, take my time, and not rush.

Recurring dream – This message showed up in a post from an animal communicator who relayed a message she received from a cat.  The cat told her that people experiencing recurring dreams of breathing underwater (which I have had) have had a past life as a fish.  The message also appeared on a post about the astrological energies of this week and how recurring dreams could result from them.  The third way this message appeared was in a recurring theme that showed up in my dream.  I think recurring dreams are a message.  I believe that dreams are a way for our subconscious mind to process what we’ve taken in during the day that we both are and aren’t aware of.  But I also feel that there is so much we don’t understand about dreams.  I think this meaning might have to do with repeating patterns and things we need to look at in our lives that keep surfacing in order to learn and grow from them.

Laurel leaves – This message showed up in a tv show trying to debunk how the Oracle at Delphi received messages.  It was mentioned that the oracle would eat laurel leaves prior to giving messages along with some other ritual actions and that the hallucinations came mostly from the gases leaching up through the earth.  This message also appeared in the whimsical movie I was called to rewatch.  As a girl was searching for a past tenant of her apartment, she met with a husband and wife.  The husband had been a ticket puncher and was now retired, but would still punch holes in his wife’s laurel leaves as though they were tickets.  I didn’t know what laurel leaves were until I looked them up and discovered they are the same as bay leaves.  Apparently, they were used in Greek wreathes and awards as well to represent honor and triumph.  So, I guess in that way, maybe this is a message of celebration.

Fault line – This message appeared in the same tv show debunking the Oracle at Delphi, stating that two faults meet beneath the temple where the oracle gave predictions.  The message also showed up in an internet article I came across stating that the San Andreas fault is at its highest tension currently than it’s been in many years.  So, I guess this message could be about shaky or unsteady ground as fault lines are places where tectonic plates meet and where disaster is likely to occur during upheaval.

Aphantasia – This message appeared in conversation with a friend who is aware that I experience a form of this during hypnosis.  It is the inability to form visual images in your mind’s eye.  It also showed up in a podcast with a guest doctor who mentioned she experiences it and how it might affect her ability to remember physical things that change during her timeline shifts.  I’ve mentioned before that I don’t necessarily experience hypnosis as most other people do.  Most people see a scene played out before them as though they are watching a movie and are watching themselves act it out or as though they are reliving it and seeing things play out around them.  I do not experience this during hypnosis, but instead get messages in the form of symbols, words with multiple meanings, flashes of images, and sensations in my body.  I’m just going to guess at the meaning of this being something about not needing actual visual sight to see something, but instead using other senses to get the same understanding.

Tesla – This message showed up in a tv show trying to uncover what happened to Nicola Tesla’s energy weapon.  It also appeared in a post about the importance of the numbers 3, 6, and 9 and how Tesla understood them to be the keys to the universe.  Additionally, it appeared in a podcast about telepathy and how Tesla described tapping into a library of information known as the Akashic records.   Nikola Tesla understood a lot about electricity and how the universe works.  He wanted to provide free electricity to the world and wasn’t driven by greed, but instead curiosity.  I think this message might be about emulating him and tapping into my own energy and universal knowledge to help everyone.

Time is running out – This message showed up in an interview with a journalist who was soon going to be having surgery.  It also showed up in a silly meme my partner read me.  I know it showed up somewhere else, likely a podcast about the week’s astrology, but I can’t recall.  I was trying not to receive this message this week because it can feel somewhat ominous to be told you’re running out of time.  However, I think it is about not waiting for yourself to be ready, not waiting for the fear to recede, and not waiting for opportunities to fall into your lap, but instead going out and getting what you want.  I think it is about actively pursuing your dreams.

So I did try to decode these messages during hypnosis.  Some of the answers came quite clearly and then some did not.  I believe that I am the maverick or can take on that role and do things differently than what is expected. I also am the cutter as I’m cutting a path forward that others may follow.  The missing finger is the lack of solid direction and my ability to trust what comes next.  There’s no clearly defined path and someone pointing the way because in life we make our own way forward and no one is really there telling us what to do and where to go.  So this represents trusting my intuition and the signs that show up as I take the next step.

Tesla also comes in as a driving force.  He pushed the boundaries of what people thought could be done and he kept looking for more answers, alternative solutions, and more meaning in life, so in those ways, I believe I’m being encouraged to keep seeking and questioning everything.  The red roof is the home and the life that I’m building for myself and my family.  It is being built at a snail’s pace because that’s how I do things.  I don’t rush.  I slowly move along the earth, taking it all in as it comes. 

The aphantasia is a gift, not a curse.  The inability to see clearly means you need to rely on your other senses and develop more creative ways of decoding information.  This is what I do.  The fault line and the time is running out message feel a bit gloomy, but I think it just means there will be a rift in some way and that that time is quickly approaching.  It doesn’t necessarily mean something bad is going to happen, it just means there may be a divide and that divide might be between opinions, beliefs, ways of living, or something else. 

Laurel leaves are the reward for the endurance.  They are the reward at the end of the race along with good fortune, meaning that even if things look dark and bleak for a while, know that the ending will be bright and beautiful and full of rewards.  And I think the recurring dream is just a reminder not to give up on your dreams and the future you believe is possible because even if it doesn’t look possible right now, if you continue to hold the belief that it is, it will eventually emerge as truth.

I have not been creating this week, but past ideas have been resurfacing.  Synchronicities and chance meetings have also been taking place.  Sometimes I get to the end of a week and despite not being “busy” in the modern world’s idea of this word, I have a hard time remembering all of the things that took place, even if they were impactful.  When you start to slow down and live by the rhythms of nature, a funny thing seems to happen with time.  It doesn’t move the same as it does when you are a slave to the clock.  It has an interesting way of ebbing and flowing like water. Sometimes it slows down like a still pond and allows you to be fully present in the moment of what you are doing, even if it feels mundane and then at other times, it feels like a fast-flowing stream that seems to transport you to another place and you can’t seem to figure out how you got there or what happened along the way.  I don’t mind this.  It is a welcome change to the frenzied pace of the life I used to live.  I just can’t help but feel it is a difficult thing to explain to someone who hasn’t experienced it. 

I believe there were some important celestial occurrences that involved Venus this week.  I can’t remember what they are, but there were a lot of signs pointing to love and beauty.  In that regard, I will leave you with a picture of my two boys who are so full of love and beauty and always make me smile.  Plus, the way they’re snuggling kind of looks like a heart.
