Drying My Wings

July 26 to August 1, 2026

This week was physically busier than many have been since we were busy moving my daughter home and driving to appointments and a birthday in the city.  It was also quiet on the client front and I am starting to see a direct correlation between the amount of online marketing I do and the amount of people who contact me each week.  Having said this, I am still finding it difficult to locate the specific places that I can reach the people who are meant to find me and I don’t want to be just constantly pushing out “content” as that doesn’t feel authentic to me.

On the flip side, I’ve been receiving creative downloads and inspirations for who my clients are and how to speak to them in a symbolic and magical language that expresses me and hopefully makes them feel seen.  The imagery is coming together over time and it feels like there are so many layers to it.  It’s not just a marketing campaign.  It’s more than that and I want it to come through me in a way that makes sense and that also honors who I am and how I operate.  I feel like it is going to resonate with the right people and that’s exactly what I’m going for, so I can’t force it or push it.  I need to let it simmer and stew until all the flavors have melded together so it comes out tasting just right.

It is still hot and we have had very little rain.  My little baby trees are doing ok for the most part.  In the lusher area of my yard, the tree rows are full of giant weeds, but the upside of this is that they are easy to pull, they help retain moisture in the soil, and the trees beneath them are still alive.  There is daily drama with the chickens, ducks and turkeys and I understand more now the idea of a pecking order.  I don’t agree with it, but I see it in action every day (universe: please never send me back to Earth as a chicken).  I’m fairly certain all of my female cats are pregnant, so in a month or two we should be ripe with baby kittens!  The garden is in full swing and my yellow hibiscus has finally bloomed.  Things are good.

I received only two messages this week and I already know the meaning of them.  The messages were blue sky and quicksand.

Blue sky – I received this message in a number of ways.  I discovered a new social media platform with the name when looking up contact information for an author.  It is the name of a new restaurant soon to open in a nearby community.  It was also mentioned in the name of a company associated with an actress who was in my province this week.  I get to look at a big blue sky every day and I’m so grateful for it.  I know that despite living in a province that swings between weather extremes, I don’t think I could live in a place that was eternally cloudy.  I love my sunshine and I love the big blue sky.  I sometimes sit and stare at it just for fun.  Having my head in the clouds, daydreaming and getting lost in thought are all things I think of when I see a big blue sky.  It is also associated with higher realms and the unknown.  I know the message is about making sure that I do take time to look up, to daydream, to contemplate things and to enjoy the natural wonders of the Earth and the seasons.  It’s a reminder to look at a higher perspective, so as not to get stuck in the busyness of life and too trapped in my own day to day worries.

Quicksand – This is something I haven’t thought of in a long time, so it is interesting that it showed up this week.  Quicksand was mentioned in a podcast when a host was mentioning childhood beliefs and concerns.  It was also mentioned in a tv show explaining what can happen when you offer people help.  I see this message as not getting bogged down with the day to day worries of life.  I think it is about knowing that mundane tasks still need to be handled, but not to get dragged down into the boredom or monotony or tedium of them.  And also not to get caught up in other people’s needs and drama, but really making sure you are focusing on what you need.

Between the two meanings this week, I know the message is to find balance.  Balance between having your head in the clouds and getting dragged down into the real 3D world.  This is a challenge I’ve been trying to figure out for a while now and I’m discovering practical ways to do this that work for me. I know that I can get very light and excited when inspiration hits and sometimes I need to give myself time to step away, go outside and ground so that I don't get carried away. But I also need to allow myself the space to create those moments for inspiration so that I'm not just constantly doing and being busy.  The messages also tie in so perfectly to the creative inspirations I’ve been having and the types of people that I wish to work with.

I created a hypnosis for myself this week that was about diving to the depths to retrieve buried treasure.  It aligned with the astrology that was occurring, it aligned with my marketing ideas, and it aligned with what I knew I needed to work on.  I thought the answers would be related to a different area of my life, but when I received the images and symbols and words while under hypnosis, I was at first confused.  I had to sit with what I’d received and contemplate it until it made sense for me.  I sat with some trees and talked it out, ruling out what I knew it wasn’t.  I then came in and talked to AI to get another perspective.  And while I was here in my office talking it out with AI, I saw some of the things that had symbolically shown up in hypnosis sitting on my desk in front of me.  It is interesting how simple the answers are and at the same time so layered and complex and that the answers we seek are so often staring us in the face waiting for us to notice them.

The result of my hypnosis was that I had a stronger idea that the path I’m on is correct.  I know that the ideas coming to me are powerful and will impact the places that need it.  I also realized that my whole journey so far over the past year of having my website, working on my personal fears and blocks, and learning who my clients are were all leading me to where I am today.  We can’t always see how things are unfolding for us or where they are leading us.  A lot of the time, it feels confusing and disorganized, but looking back I can see how all of the challenges I encountered and the art I made and the little nudges I received were all guiding me right here.

I was inspired to start some art this week as well.  I think the hypnosis also helped in bringing up some creative energy from deep within me.  I immediately saw how I could bring the imagery I’ve been working on to life through my art.  The time spent physically bringing these things to life also provides me the space and time to fine tune details of the bigger picture I'm envisioning.  I am creating solid foundations for the future of my business and my livelihood.  This is big work and it requires patience, time, and perseverance.  I’ve made it this far, so I know I can hang on a little longer until it all takes shape before me and I just know that the timing will be divine.

I’ll leave you with a picture of my yellow hibiscus.  Since colour is a big part of my symbolic language, when I see these yellow blossoms, I know that means my confidence and personal power are coming online.  Pairing this with the Leo season we are currently in, and the prevalence of the long, bright sunny days fostering a season of growth and abundance, I can’t help but feel like this is coming my way also.  I will just sit here in this heat and dry my newly emerged wings, allowing the ideas and inspirations to fully form before taking my first flight.
