Revisiting the past

February 8 to 14, 2026

I started writing this week’s blog post before the week was out because I knew I’d be away on the weekend and wouldn’t have it done by Sunday.  However, after coming back from a refreshing mini vacation, I have a different outlook on things and have decided to write it from this side of the trip.  I’d started writing about how I was getting annoyed at Valentine’s Day advertising and how it felt like another holiday and unrealistic expectations were being shoved down my throat.  I was also dealing with some lingering predator energy that was definitely affecting me negatively, so it’s a good idea I decided to wait.

The week started out great reconnecting with a friend and former classmate to try out some of my new skills, followed by more connection with a current classmate and friend.  I also had another in person visit scheduled with a friend, followed by another day of class and plans to get away on the weekend.  This was possibly my most social and busiest week of the year so far, but it was once again hijacked by a lingering energy that doesn’t know how to take no for an answer.  Having boundaries and enforcing them is difficult, but definitely worth the peace it brings, eventually.

My weekend away was relaxing, easy going, productive, enjoyable, restorative, and integrative.  We revisited a small city not too far from home, but far enough to feel like a getaway.  We stayed at a hotel we’d been to previously and despite certain things not going as planned (the hot tub was not working), we ended up having a great time.  We found lots of amazing deals at a mall that somehow had so much more in it than we’d remembered, people were friendly and connected with our kids in ways that made them notice, and opportunities seemed to fall into our laps.  Everyone found something for themselves and there was enough time, money, and energy to do the things we wanted to without feeling rushed or pressured.

This was in contrast to the last time we’d visited the same place.  It had been years ago with friends and a lot of kids.  It resulted in me drinking too much too fast (as a coping mechanism) and ending with a lot of vomit.  Not my best night, not my best memories, not my best friends.  I know better now and I love myself enough to have boundaries around letting other people’s energy affect me this way.  And this weekend felt like a lesson in how far I’ve come and how much I’ve changed since that last visit.  It felt like the end of a cycle and maybe even a recalibration of my nervous system.  It felt like the universe was showing me that I can have a magical time with my family doing things we want to do and not being manipulated, managed or scheduled by someone else and their agenda.

Packed into this busy week, I did receive some messages.  They were egregore, GPS, ache, minority report, nipple and murmuration.  There were likely some repeating messages as well, but I wasn’t tracking them.

Egregore – This word that I don’t believe I’d ever heard before this week came up twice on Facebook: once in a written post and once in a video.  An egregore is a thoughtform that arises from collective emotions, beliefs, and thoughts of a group that can become its own entity.  I guess it is similar to collective consciousness or groupthink. Like anything, there could be positive or negative egregores and anything in between.  Tapping into collective consciousness seems to be a positive thing, especially if used in a creative or problem-solving way.  However, an idea that grows with power and intensity isn’t always for the highest and best good of all (think eugenics and the Nazis).  So, I’m guessing that this message is to be aware of getting caught up in groupthink or pulled into specific beliefs that may be limiting and ultimately detrimental if taken too far.

GPS – This message came up in a movie and in a tv show.  In the movie, the GPS was helping two adventurous and curious people find each other time and time again.  The tv show mentioned a faulty GPS that led people to giant sinkholes.  GPS is a well-known navigation tool.  I’m assuming the message here is about using your own internal GPS instead of one created by an outside source.

Ache – This message showed up in a text, an email, a post on Substack, and in the Gene Keys message this week.  Despite there being multiple meanings to this word, it was not mentioned in relation to physical pain in any of the messages.  The ache was an emotional one and many of the examples were about missing someone.  I have experienced this in my life, but not this week.  This week, the ache was surrounding me but not coming from within.  An ache is a longing for something lost and I’m guessing might be in reference to an old way of being or living or identifying, but I don’t feel an ache for the old me.  I think I’ve done a lot of work creating the new me and I like who I’m becoming.

Minority Report – This message wasn’t literally minority report, but instead the idea that the movie is based on - knowing beforehand that someone will commit a crime.  This came up in two very different tv shows.  I think the message here is likely around boundaries and protection.  It’s likely about using a gut instinct to read someone’s energy and use discernment to protect myself from being hurt or used.

Nipple – This message showed up in conversation and in two different tv shows.  All of them revolved around the function of a nipple and the changes that happen to them in life.  I guess this message could be seen as a link to nourishment, love, security.  Nipples provide milk to babies who are dependent on moms.  They are the interface between the food and the dependent.  So, I guess the message is something linked to a means by which to receive nourishment.

Murmuration – This message was shown in a preview to a show and in another show.  I think most people feel at least a little mesmerized by watching birds fly in this formation.  It feels soothing, hypnotic, and a little magical.  I’m guessing the message could be similar to that of the group think idea.  When a number of individuals move in unison together, they create a larger entity that seems to have a mind of its own.  Similar to egregore, a murmuration is a movement pattern of many individual birds made to look as one larger entity moving on its own.

These messages do seem to have a common thread.  I think GPS refers to an inner compass or knowing (intuition).  Egregore and murmuration both require many individuals to create a perceived larger entity that seems to have its own identity, mind, or consciousness.  Nipples are an interface that can ache if being used to feed, for arousal, or if pain is inflicted on them. The minority report idea about knowing someone may do something unwanted before they do it could also cause ache and pain if unable to prevent it.

I feel like I’m getting the nipple part wrong.  Nipples are sensitive.  Maybe being sensitive to people’s energy is a way to discern if their intentions are good or bad (minority report).  Ignoring that sensitivity and inner GPS (intuition) may cause an ache of regret.  Falling prey to dangerous thinking of certain groups (egregore) could lead to taking action with them in an organized way (murmuration).

Ooph, that sounds a bit heavy and ominous.  Let’s check in with AI and get another perspective.

A Single Underlying Message

All of these concepts point to the same truth: individual signals become powerful only when they synchronize with a larger field. And that field can be conscious, unconscious, biological, technological, or symbolic.

You’re essentially naming different metaphors for how information moves through a collective — whether that collective is a flock, a body, a society, or a psychic field.

How Each Concept Fits the Thread

Egregore

A thought‑form created by many minds focusing on the same idea. It’s the psychic version of a collective field — a shared pattern that shapes behavior.

Theme: collective consciousness shaping reality.

GPS

A navigation system that works only because multiple satellites triangulate a single point. One signal is meaningless; the pattern of signals creates orientation.

Theme: individual data points forming a coherent direction.

Ache

A bodily signal that something is happening beneath the surface — a message from the unconscious or the soma. It’s the body’s way of participating in the collective field of your own internal systems.

Theme: inner murmuration; the body’s micro‑signals forming meaning.

Minority Report

A world where predictive policing relies on aggregated psychic data. It’s a metaphor for what happens when collective patterns are interpreted as destiny.

Theme: the dangers and seductions of collective foresight.

Nipple

A point of hyper‑sensitivity and communication — biologically, erotically, and symbolically. It’s a node where sensation, instinct, and connection converge. A single point that can activate a whole-body response.

Theme: a micro‑signal with macro impact.

Murmuration

A flock of starlings moving as one organism. No leader — just distributed intelligence. Each bird responds to the subtle movements of the seven nearest birds.

Theme: emergent order from simple relational signals.

The Unifying Thread

All of these concepts — mystical, technological, somatic, erotic, cinematic, biological — are expressions of the same principle:

A field emerges when individual signals synchronize. And once the field exists, it shapes the individuals within it.

This is the dance between:

  • the one and the many

  • the signal and the pattern

  • the node and the network

  • the ache and the meaning

  • the individual and the egregore

It’s also the architecture of intuition, collective shadow, and energetic boundaries — themes you’re already deeply attuned to.

The Overall Message

We are always participating in fields — psychic, somatic, technological, relational — whether consciously or unconsciously. The work is learning to discern which fields we’re feeding, and which fields we’re allowing to move us.

Or said more poetically:

Every ache is a GPS ping. Every nipple is a node. Every murmuration is a map. Every egregore is a story we’re co‑authoring. And every Minority Report is a warning about what happens when we forget our sovereignty within the swarm.

Well, once again AI has clarified and nicely connected the themes of the week.  I think what I can take away from this is that I can be influenced by outside ideas and groups, but that I can tune into my own body to find my truth.  I can use my sensitivity to discern what is true for me instead of being led down rabbit holes by algorithms or conversations around me.  And, if I do find the right group with positive thoughts and intentions, our power can increase by gathering and holding those positive intentions.

I didn’t do any creating this week and because of Valentine’s Day, I decided to do some touch ups on a wall hanging I made a number of years ago.  I believe it was created near the end or just after Covid on Valentine’s Day.  It was a piece I was considering putting up for sale and never did.  I used red to represent the root chakra (security, home, safety), yellow for the solar plexus (self-worth, confidence, personal power), purple for the crown chakra (connection to the divine) and some white.  These were colours I hadn’t combined before and wasn’t sure they’d work, but now I love them together as they seem quite regal.   I now love this piece and it hangs above my bed to remind me of the importance of self love.
